Alexa Mills | MIT Center for Civic Media
Alexa has taught storytelling and journalism at MIT, Emerson College, and Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá. She is a freelance journalist and a Fulbright Special Scholar. From 2008-2013, she worked at the MIT Community Innovators Lab in the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning, where she founded CoLab Radio, an online publication in which people who are committed to improving their communities can share their projects and express their ideas.
Alexa earned her BA in English from Cornell University in 2003. She earned her Master's in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2008. Before attending MIT, Alexa was a victim advocate in the Domestic Violence Intake Center of the Washington D.C. city courthouse.
