Public Laboratory will present an aerial mapping workshop that includes a presentation of site work we have completed on the Gulf Coast and at the Gowanus Canal in New York City and a demonstration of balloon mapping outside on the MIT campus. The session will end with short demonstration sessions of new tools that are currently in development including spectrometer and infrared imaging.

VoIP Drupal, Room 244
Join us in this hands-on session to learn about the internal workings of the VoIP Drupal platform and create your first Drupal site that makes and receives phone calls. VoIP Drupal is an innovative framework that brings the power of voice and Internet-telephony to Drupal sites. It can be used to build community outreach applications that combine regular touchtone phones, web, SMS, Twitter, IM and other communication tools in a variety of ways, including:
  • Voice- and SMS-based get-out-the-vote campaigns
  • 2-1-1, 3-1-1 and other information hotlines
  • Phone-based community surveys
  • PTA and other meeting reminders
  • Story recording/playback
  • Group voicemail
  • Language training

  • Geo-based callblasts aimed at specific streets or locations
