Aaditeshwar Seth

Aaditeshwar Seth works in the area of using digital technologies to promote community media in rural areas of developing countries. He is co-founder of a social entrepreneurial startup, Gram Vaani Community Media, funded as part of the Knight News Challenge for 2008. He completed his PhD in 2008 from the University of Waterloo in Canada, and his B.Tech from the Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur in 2002, both in computer science. Aaditeshwar has been a winner of the Ratan Swaroop Memorial Award given to the best all-rounder during B.Tech, and has been involved with entrepreneurship since a long time. After completing his BTech, he co-founded an e-learning software product company in Pune. During his PhD, he co-founded the Waterloo chapter of a non-profit student organization, Udai, to help NGOs in India with technical support. He is passionate about social development and strongly believes in the strength of appropriate technology to bring change.
