Santa Barbara experienced two major wildfires in 2008. Citizens of Santa Barbara, frustrated by the information available from traditional media and public information, turned to Edhat to learn about the emergency and to share with the community the information they knew.

Edhat continues to improve its site to provide an online place for people of Santa Barbara to learn what is going on, and to share their love of the community in which they live.
