Cancha Ciudadana

Cancha Ciudadana (www.canchaciudadana.org )is an effort to promote civil participation among citizens in México. Using the new technologies available -social networking, blogging (http://canchaciudadana.blogspot.com/ ) and an internet site- Cancha Ciudadana promotes discussion, debate, reflection, and enhances civic responsibility in the uses and production of valuable information.

In its first project, Cancha Ciudadana has developed a site which contains relevant and accessible information concerning the next electoral process to be celebrated in México this 5th of July. In a process of information managing, the site presents dispersed information in an easy to use basis. This site is conceived as a tool to help people consolidate its electoral decision by offering information on the state, the province, the government in office and the candidates available of every place where elections are being held. The site invites the public to comment and participate on the topics which are considered the most relevant, promoting a critical view of the whole process inviting to the consolidation of democracy through participation.
